Bed Safety Rails - Stander Bed Rails 30" Safety Bed Rail

When it comes to bed safety rails, people tend to think of narrowly as a safety accessory for children.

The Stander Safety Bed Rails is an adult side rail that keeps it user from falling out of bed and also doubles up as a support bar for getting in and out of bed. The bed rail is twenty-three inches high and will accommodate thicker mattress as well as taller pillow arrangements.

The Stander Safety Bed Rails attaches to any home or hospital easily. It assembles quickly with only minimum parts and uses only four bolts for installation. Each bolt uses an Alan wrench which comes together in the package. Unfortunately, since the Alan wrench is rarely used, it’s easy to misplace. And when you happen to need to remove the bed rails, unlocking the bolts become a problem. So be sure to keep your Alan wrench somewhere where you can find. Aside from the bolts, a safety strap provides additional security to the bed frame.

There is a small gap of about three inches between the bed rail and the frame to allow for the folding of the rail. The bed safety rails are fully collapsible and they fold down flushed to the bed and out of the way when it isn't in use. The bed rails are meant to provide support for getting up, so it might seem to make little sense for it to fold out of the way. But folding the rails allows for care givers to help the patient onto bed more easily. Collapsing the rails also makes it easy for making the bed.

There are three levels of support bars available on the safety bed rail to offer the users various handles suitable for the height of the user. The rail is designed to stand up to weights of 400 Ibs, which is far more than what the average person would weigh. However, users should note that this is just the weight capacity of the design material. The real counterweight of the rail is in the bed frame which it is attached to. If the bed frame is small and lightweight, it will not be able to support the 400 Ibs described by the product.

The Stander Safety Bed Rail comes in three styles, the standard 30" Safety Bed Rail, the 30" Safety Bed Rail with a Padded Pouch and the E-Z Adjust. The rail with padded pouch simply comes with a padded pouch on the rail bars for leaning comfort. However, this covers up the various levels, leaving only the top bar exposure your hands to grab for support.

Depending on your requirements, you may or may not find this an important issue. The E-Z Adjust is works exactly like the standard rail, but the rails are able to extend laterally from twenty-six inches all the way to forty-two inches to cover the length of the bed with a simple release button. The rail length can be retracted such that the user is able to climb out from the further end of the bed while still being able to use the bed rail for support. All the bed rails come in durable powder finish to prevent cracks on the coat that could result in rust and eventually weakening of the bars.

The Stander 30" Safety Bed Rails is easy to install, even easier to use and is very useful for the elderly or patients at home who need some help in getting in and out of their beds. Make sure to follow instructions and use the rail with care and you’re be more than just fine with the safety bed rail.
